Indigenous Summer Fine Arts and Crafts Market

The Aboriginal Artworks Group of Northern Ontario is planning to hold an Indigenous Summer Fine Arts and Crafts Market on June 20-21 at the Eastview Arena in Barrie.

Over the years, the market has grown grown from 32 artisans to about 250 artisans with a wide range of arts and crafts for sale, including moccasins, mitts, apparel, jewellery, ribbon skirts, and carvings.

Indigenous fine arts and crafts markets have been a tradition in Thunder Bay for many years. Now, the market is looking to expand into a new area, bringing these unique cultural experiences to even more communities.

Organizers are currently inviting artisans from Northern communities and the Barrie area to take part in the market. The event also aims to highlight Indigenous fine arts and crafts to visitors from around the world travelling to the region for the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Toronto
