    The Aboriginal Artworks Group of Northern Ontario is planning to hold an Indigenous Summer Fine Arts and Crafts Market on June 20-21 at the Eastview Arena in Barrie. Over the years, the market has grown grown from 32 artisans to about 250 artisans with a wide range of arts and crafts for sale, including moccasins, mitts, apparel, jewellery, ribbon skirts, and carvings.

    The inaugural Destiny’s Tournament of Hope is set to bring the community together for a meaningful weekend of ball hockey, held in memory of Destiny Ali supported by the Canadian Mental Health Association and in partnership with the South Simcoe Ball Hockey Leagues. The community-led event aims to honour the life and legacy of Destiny Ali while bringing people together to raise awareness, reduce stigma and fund critical local mental health and addiction programs.
