The Barrie Colts would like to announce that the preseason game between the Barrie Colts and Sudbury Wolves will be played on September 4th, 2018 at the Eddie Bush Memorial Arena in Collingwood at 6pm.
The game will feature the last two first overall picks in the OHL. Last years 1st overall selection from the Barrie Colts, Ryan Suzuki will be playing against this years 1st overall selection from the Sudbury Wolves, Quinton Byfield. Suzuki had a fantastic rookie season with the Barrie Colts, tallying 14 goals and 30 assists in his rookie campaign and will look to build on that with another successful year in Barrie.
“We’re very excited to bring an exhibition game to Collingwood. It’s a great community that has always had a passion for hockey and the fans there will have the chance to see some great players including Ryan Suzuki and Quinton Byfield” said Barrie Colts President and Owner Howie Campbell.
Colts Co-Owner / V.P of Business Development and Marketing, Jim Payetta followed that by saying “When the opportunity came up to host a game in Collingwood we jumped right on it. We have Colts season ticket holders there that are obviously passionate hockey fans and we’re thrilled to be able to bring a Colts game to a rink right in the community”
The game will feature current and future players of both teams as the coaching staff, management and scouts will be there watching the talent, working towards selecting the team for the upcoming 2018-19 OHL season.
